We provide the support schools need to effectively implement VET in school
Skills Generation has strong positive relationships with our partnering Schools and a proven track record for student success with our programs returning consistently high completion rates and up to 12 QCE credits.
VET can be undertaken in years 10, 11 and 12, at school and during school hours and it can contribute toward academic outcomes of a student’s Queensland Certificate of Education (QCE).
Our priority is to support schools and their students to achieve meaningful outcomes through development of work-related skills and QCE credits
The benefits VET offers to students include:
- development of work-related skills that enhance employability
- access to learning opportunities beyond the traditional curriculum, including work-based learning
- competency-based assessment that meets industry standards
- pathways to further training, education and tertiary learning
- QCE credits
All VET training embedded in Queensland Curriculum and Assessment Authority (QCAA) subjects and school-based apprenticeships and traineeships count towards a VET qualification as well as the Queensland Certificate of Education; it allows students to mix general and vocational education and make a start on training for a career before they leave school.
