The Lead and Mentor Skill Set is ideal for workers with existing experience or qualifications in community services or health sector roles who are seeking to broaden their skills in leading, mentoring, coordinating, supporting and coaching in the community sector.

You will learn how to effectively lead and mentor work teams and gain the skills required to develop, deliver and evaluate mentoring programs for new staff. You will gain skills in leading work teams and learn how to effectively monitor team performance. You will learn the art of self-reflection and gain understanding of the importance of continuous professional development.

The units of study in this Skill Set provide credit towards a range of qualifications in the CHC Community Services Training Package at Certificate IV or Diploma or Advanced Diploma level.

Requirements

CHCSS00082 Lead and Mentor Skill Set is available for groups and can be completed either in a classroom setting or online. This Skill Set is available upon request and delivered in a mode that best suits the needs of your group. Please contact our friendly team to discuss how we can get you started.

This skill set has been endorsed by industry as suitable for individuals who:

  • hold a qualification at Certificate III level or higher in related field, or
  • have skills equivalent to the qualification requirement validated through a recognition of prior learning process

Those who are currently working or have worked in a relevant industry, may be eligible for Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL). Please give us a call and we can talk through your particular needs with you.

Funding and Fees

This course currently attracts government funding for eligible students. Students who access funded training pay a co-contribution fee that represents a small fraction of the total course fee!

Students who are not eligible for subsidised training pay the full course fee.
