New Professional Development Opportunity for Secondary School Teachers – Training your students in VET qualifications has just become easier with NO TAE Required!

New regulations are making it easier than ever before for School Teachers to train their students in Vocational Education and Training (VET) qualifications by allowing eligible registered teachers who hold an education degree to train VET qualifications under supervision – No TAE is needed. Skills Generation supports our partnering schools and teachers to take advantage of this exciting development offering a valuable Professional Development opportunity for teachers that also supports schools to increase VET choices for their students.

Skills Generation will assist our partnering schools with meeting supervision arrangements, and support the upskilling or reskilling of teachers in the Skills Generation’s VET qualifications that are taught by teachers at the school.

Introduce the world of Aviation to your Secondary students

Eligible teachers interested in becoming qualified to train students in AVI30419 Certificate III in Aviation (Remote Pilot) can upskill by completing the Certificate III qualification and gaining the CASA Remote Pilot Licence (RePL) with Skills Generation in a single program. Skills Generation will support eligible teachers to complete the Certificate III qualification and achieve their CASA RePL for FREE.

Secondary School Teacher Jason Brown has recently completed AVI30419 Certificate III in Aviation (Remote Pilot) with Skills Generation so he can train his students in the correct use of drones and teach them about their application in Rural Operations.

Jason says “the course has given me skills to enhance student outcomes in a secondary educational setting. I can use the knowledge to inform students about the safe and effective operation of drones for recreational use and use in conjunction with their current course of study which includes Rural Operations. The course has been informative and concise to allow me to be proficient in the CASA regulations and requirements. The use of drones has allowed us to be able to monitor weed infestations, and drainage issues. This directly allows a correlation of the use of the drone to improve the successful application of herbicides and to look at better drainage when conditions allow.

I recommend the course to all those who have a genuine interest in the safe and efficient use of drones, either in the workplace or for recreational use”, he said.
